Is he a sinner or a saint? Is he merely an misanthropic asshole, or a damaged beautiful man desperately in need of someone who sees through his bullshit to his soul Justin.

Brian Kinney is the quissential romantic hero. He is a loner, damaged and wary of people, cynical and melancholy. He is outside the circle, an outcast who is introspective and flawed. He was alienated and often isolated yet had his own (and quite strong) sense of morality and ethics that was outside the conventional. He is a hero whose heroism is not involved in upholding the social order, but operating outside of it and sometimes in contradiction to it.

Brian is the embodiment of all that should be sin, pride, vanity, sex, sex, sex. Brian is original sin incarnate.

Brian is taking a bite of original sin, our baser instincts and using those to fuel himself. He uses knowledge to provide for himself, and others around him. He has taken sin, knowledge of good and evil, applied reason, logic, self interest, and imagination and redefined right and wrong for himself.

Every time he takes a bite of that apple, he is taking a bite of what once hurt and lied to him, and is saying I create my own sin, as well as everyone else does. We create or own worlds, our own right and wrong.

The apple represents Brian saying fuck you and I own my own sin, sell you sin, and I will thrive off it as well.
